DECEMBER 2012

Hello my humor-loving friends. Guess what? My family has determined that the boring old Chuckle Bros needs to move into the 21st century - at least as far as promoting ourselves is concerned. I have been told by my crack technology team – my wife and children – that in addition to the cartoons that my brother, Ron, and I co-produce around the clock, our readership would also welcome a Chuckle Bros’ blog, plus the ability to post and dialogue on Facebook and the immediacy that Twitter provides. Apart from the fact that creating our cartoon is a hugely time-consuming and multi-layered process, I ask you . . . who has so much time that they can hold down two fulltime jobs AND write what amounts to a short essay on a regular basis? I guess we’ll soon find out.

If you follow our feature at all, then you’d know that my brother and I are clearly a product of a more simple time, when Bewitched, The Beatles and playing frisbee was enough to make the world go round. I like to believe that our cartoons speak for themselves and that technically, there should be nothing more to add. But again, according to my family, this is a different world we live in - one that begs the bigger picture: the informative ‘behind-the-scenes’, the captivating ‘special features’, the hilarious ‘outakes’ and the inevitable ‘deleted scenes’. Further to that, we have finally addressed the inadequacies of our rudimentary website and for those of you curious enough to find out, we have quietly launched a new and improved site that - while still a work in progress - will eventually allow us to serve you better and share more of ourselves with you.

So, here it is folks. We are pulling up stakes from the last century and hurtling ourselves full-nelly into the present one. And you know what? I am beginning to think that I am going to relish the opportunity of using this medium to share with you our art in a way I had never thought possible – starting with the early stages of its development, followed by the somewhat erratic and unpredictable artistic process and ending up with the finished product. Ron and I are embracing this chance to interact with you. Now we have a more immediate way to dialogue with you - our loyal, tech-savvy followers - and pursue that ever-elusive goal to ‘make ‘em laugh’ . . .

SEPTEMBER 2012

Humor can be found in just about every nook and cranny - down dark alleys, deep in space, far out to sea and hidden under grates. These are just a few of the myriad settings which serve as a backdrop for our zany cartoon, Chuckle Bros.

From early civilization, through the present, and on into the distant future, the world of Chuckle Bros is actually the same crazy world we all inhabit - it's just missing the normal set of checks and balances that keep each and every one of us just inside the ropes on our path through life.

Add the ignoble guy - the fellow who is constantly faced with innumerable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster - and you've got a sure-fire recipe for laughter.

And the best thing about him is that he is everybody and nobody at the same time - a pirate, a gardener, a locksmith or an astronaut - so he can go anywhere, anytime, and do anything, all in the name of a good chuckle.

In a world that's often all too serious, we welcome you to see it through the eyes of Chuckle Bros - a laugh-a-day, every day.
